Wudang Tai Chi Chuan’s 48 traditional fighting techniques, drills and advanced applications

Back in ancient China, Yang Lu Chan made Tai Chi a famous martial art by defeating all the best fighters of his era, earning the nicnkname Yang the invincible. He was then made chief instructor to the Manchu Imperial guards- the most elite fighting soldiers around responsible for guard in the Royal family.

A lot of Tai Chi lineages lost all the excellent training methods used by men like Yang Lu Chan to make themselves untouchable fighters.

In this ‘Cheng Tin Hung’ lineage of tai chi we are lucky enough to have preserved all the training methods, tools and techniques to achieve the highest levels of fighting ability.

Cheng Tin Hung was famous throughout Asia for successfully fighting a variety of martial arts duels, full contact competitions and training other international full contact champions.

The cornerstone of his success are the 48 traditional fighting techniques and drills, taught to him by his master Qi Min Xuan. These drills go back to the times of Yang Lu Chan.

I used these exercises to become British and European Tai Chi pushing hands champion at heavyweight. They also gave me the skills to be selected to fight in the very first professional mma fighting championship, The Night Of The Samurai  – heavyweight championship bout.

Dozens of my own students have won National and International pushing hands and full contact fighting tournaments by practicing the 48 drills to a good standard.

I and other students who work in nightclub security have also found their application in street self defence to be easy, solid and secure in both restraint/grappling as well as striking.

If you want to have a system which seamlessly integrates striking, grappling, throwing, clinchwork as well as locks and breaks, this martial Tai Chi system has it.

This video course includes 9 hours of footage teaching you in details all of the essential 48 tai chi freefighting drills (San Shou ). There are more than 40 lessons which breakdown the classical tai chi form movements, show you their martial meaning and give you both the foundation level training and more advanced flow methods of training.

If you want to learn the real fighting techniques of tai chi in a systematic way and have many examples of ways to train for effective application of the techniques then this course may be for you.

Additional Instructor certification

Once you have learned and achieved a competent level with the material in the course, you can apply for an instructor certification under our 13 Dynamics Tai Chi banner. We have had several people succeed doing this and have been impressed by standards they have achieved.

All you need to do is either submit footage of yourself effectively practicing the drills and explaining your understanding of key details, or simply contact me for an assessment session (no additional charges).

We are very keen to have high quality practitioners teaching these highly effective skills.
